• Wings Of Light: Sacred Service Projects for Adults & Children

Michelle Mullady and Angel Santiago decided to launch the "Wings of Light" group to awaken the world of community service to our children as a path for future peacemakers. After sharing these ideas with several other parents and guardians, we found that they were also interested in getting involved with the children in their lives to learn about being of service as an act of love in the world. This meetup group is open to the public and welcomes both adults and children of all ages. We will be getting together monthly at various locations to explore the unlimited options to bring the light of [...]

Letting go of who I think I am

Going beyond the overwhelming wall of fears and worries comes up when change is upon us, what you'll realize that the wall is just an obstacle to pass through on our journey towards Self-realization. What are we?  This question came about because of a conversation I had with someone who recently lost a loved one.  We got to talking about death, what is it? What happens after we die?   I told her that it depended on what do you believe we are.  There are two perspectives: that we are human beings looking for a spiritual awakening or, that we are divine, eternal, spiritual beings dealing [...]

    What gets in the way?

I want to ask you a question, do you really know is what is important to you? It is important to explore and know where you are in life today for two reasons, 1) so that you can be intentional about your life and 2) so that you can understand yourself better and remove some of the challenges you are facing today preventing you from living the life you want.  A life of meaning, purpose, significance and a life where you are able to contribute - to do something beyond yourself. There's two main focuses in life, one is achievement, you know, the things you go after that most consider success, [...]

    My Relationship Blueprint

I spent this past week in a Spiritual Psychology Conference in Canada.  Most of the attendees were wise people between the ages of 40-80.  Over the past couple of years, I've been developing or theorizing my own blueprint for healthy relationship.  It occurred to me that being around so much wisdom and life experience, why not ask them for what works and has helped them make their relationships work.  First, let me share with you what I've been thinking for my blueprint. Friendship comes first - really put in the time to develop a healthy and genuine relationship with that person. [...]

    Be Still...

    Be Still...

When I teach Meditation to someone, the first thing I invite them to learn is stillness.  One can't even begin to gain control of ones emotional nature and thoughts if you can't gain control over ones own body - which we actually have control over. My suggestion is to choose a time - either morning or night - and a place in their house that feels good to you; whatever you choose, that will be your daily time and place. The most important thing to do, is to forget/let go of any concepts or ideas you have about meditation. Make a ritual of it, by turning off the lights, lighting a [...]

    Paths to Self Realization

According to Roberto Assagioli, founder of psychosynthesis psychology, there are seven main paths of Spiritual or Transpersonal realization. The paths are not sharply divided; in fact, they often overlap.  Some people may follow two or three paths at the same time; this is because each of us have different ways or qualities manifesting in the different aspects or levels of our being. But all paths are directed to and lead to the same great goal - self realization or finding our true self; therefore, the more balanced you are, the greater the overlapping and the blending of the paths. Here [...]

    How Superman learned to fly...

"I think therefore I am not, only when the mind is silent I am" - unknown Do you remember the old cartoons that showed a character talking to a little angel version of them and a little devil version of them on his shoulders? We'll thats the internal battle of good vs evil we all have - the EGO(lil devil) vs true self(lil angel, God). There is an old Cherokee legend of an old Cherokee elder teaching his grandson about life. He said a fight is going on inside me,it is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, [...]

    2014 Year in Review

2014...what can I say about 2014.  Well, as I begin to look forward to 2015, I have look back at 2014 and all its lessons.  I lost a job over MLK weekend in early January and I felt no stress, no fear and no anxiety over it, why?  because up to that point my faith in the way life works and how everything that happens to you is always working for you never against you was strong and solid - unshakable - or so I thought.  I then had the time to invest in some personal goals I had and help create good things for the dance community I was a part of.  And just when things were smooth sailing, [...]

Sometimes you just have to make a choice

Its been an while since I've made a post, I guess you can say I was experiencing Life so that I can make a post...lol.  As I opened up my blog, the first thing I read was the description: “What is my purpose in life? What is my passion? Where do I go from here? Sometimes, the best way to find a purpose in life is to go out there and take action, even if we don’t know what we are doing! This is my attempt at just that." I created this blog 4 years ago and the interesting thing is that I just re-asked myself those very same questions about a week ago.  This time; however, they led me to [...]

    What is Real?

    What is Real?

What is real?  How do you define real?  If you are talking about what you can feel, smell, taste, see and hear, then real  is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.  This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie the Matrix.  It is said that the mind is a powerful thing, it is!  Spiritual teachers and quantum physicists all over have found that the world you live in, as YOU experience it, only exists in your mind.  So if its true in your mind, then its true and real for you.  I once heard a Indian Guru say that the only place you experience life is within yourself.  You [...]

    Your reality, Your Life!

You say you want to change, you want to let go and find peace because your life its a "nightmare".  Well, what if that nightmare is all you have known?  How do you let go of it knowing that the very idea of it might mean loosing yourself. If I loose myself, then who am I? What do I have if I don't have that anymore? What will I do if I am not doing that or being that anymore?  You would be what you have been and always will be - a divine spiritual being - but you have been so busy living the nightmare and thinking that you are the nightmare that you failed to notice.  The truth is, the[...]

Love: Emotion or State of Being?

So I've been reading Eckhart Tolle's A new Earth and so far it has been amazing - just what I needed to be reading at this point of my journey. It completely breaks down the aspects of the EGO so that you can have a greater understanding of it. It has help me to understand the WHY? of Don Miguel Ruiz's Agreement of not taking things personal and the WHERE? the compassion Buddha spoke so much stems from. I had mentioned before that the EGO is the unobserved/untrained mind and how it is a bundle of misconceptions.  Eckhart Tolle continues to explain that it is not only your [...]

    Human[BEING]

In life, we get stuck in the roles given to us by our parents, society or the roles we give ourselves. We try so hard to be the best mom, dad, wife, husband, son, daughter, etc, and the list goes on and on; so much so that life is no longer about the relationships you could be building with any given person but whether or not you are measuring up to the role you think you are playing at that moment so much so that authenticity goes out the window. When you live this way, all that matters at any given moment with any given interaction is who you think you are, who you think they are and who you[...]

    Pairs of Opposite

Carl Gustav Jung (26 July 1875 - 6 June 1961) was a Swiss psychiatrist, an influential thinker and the founder of analytical psychology (also known as Jungian psychology). Jung's approach to psychology has been influential in the field of depth psychology and in countercultural movements across the globe. Jung is considered as the first modern psychologist to state that the human psyche is "by nature religious" and to explore it in depth. C.G. Jung says that in the world we live in, there are certain qualities that are absolute truths. These qualities come in pairs of opposites and you can't [...]

    A bit of Meditation...

The practice of meditation or sitting in silence, its not something that you are just going to flow on your first try. In fact, its probably not going to make sense to you at all. You are going to be fidgety, anxious, confused and not sure of what you are doing or what its suppose to happen. You are probably not going to like it and for most, you are going to quit, because you are going to lead your self to belief that you are no good at it; its simply too difficult. The truth is; we have 5 senses that need stimuli and you have been facilitating that stimulus with external things all your [...]

    We were born ready...

We'll it's been a while since I posted anything, but, like my original post says, I've been on the road of looking within and finding out who I truly am. This past year sure did that to me! My first step was learning to let go of who I thought I was - as you can see in my recent post and the rest was my journey. So are we born ready to begin that journey that takes us down our own personal rabbit hole of questions and answers or no answers? I believe we are. Here is my reasoning: We are not what we think we are. As my friend Moises would say: Your are NOT what you see in the mirror You are [...]

Letting go of the person I use to be

"When you are free from craving for sense pleasures and when you are aware of emptiness, you are free in a supreme way and that will not change. It's like a flame struck by a gust of wind; in a flash the flame has gone out." I've reached a place in my life where I have to think about the person I use to be and the person I am in order to discover the person I want to be. When I think of the person I use to be, I start to think about who I was in past lives and how those may carry over into this one. How it may affect me from truly being Me in this life. I just recently opened my Akashic [...]

    Peace of Mind

"Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming"  -John Wooden How to achieve peace of mind. Very hard to do. Yesterday I learned that a key to success is having your mind and your heart working together as one. Finding that balance between the constant battle we have on a day to day basis. Your heart says one thing, your mind says another. How could we possibly find balance and inner peace. I read an article on the internet once that really made me aware of this conflict, which I know [...]

    The Power of Connections

Yesterday I had dinner with my uncle and we were suppose to talk about marketing since I am going to be assisting him in that department in his medical office, but instead we talked about me. He wanted to know what was my reality today, this instance, based on the circumstance surrounding me. So I did - I talked and talked and talked and let my emotions out. All he did was listen, he only gave advice when he felt it was needed: Life is all about people and the connections you create with them. To ensure that every person you come in contact with you uplift them and make them feel good about [...]

    Be your own Superman...

Yes, superman, i know that this is a fictitious character in a Hollywood movie, but,  the message of the movie is what i am focusing on.  Plain and simple - What makes superman so SUPER?  The light of the yellow sun. The more yellow sun rays Superman absorbs the stronger he gets; in some instances he has been shown to enter the sun in order to increase his powers to their highest potentials. Learn to harness the light and energy of the sun to flow through you like fuel for a car.    If you think about this it makes sense, we are all light and energy and what better than the greatest [...]

Who am I today?   Today i am a grateful person, grateful to those around me and those that took the time to share with me their story.  I feel very lucky to be a part of that.     I received some great feedback yesterday from this, my first blogging experience; one came from my sister with a very deep perspective:   "This is a manifestation of a man within different elements, that is manifesting who he truly is by peeling back the layers using the arts as a medium" It was a great vision of what i am trying to do and it all came about because she asked why i titled it man.e.fold?
